As we approach the end of an enriching year, we are pleased to share an exciting next step for our exhibition “The Berlin Wall. A World Divided.” After welcoming over 160,000 visitors in Madrid, this thought-provoking exhibition will conclude on January 12, 2025, before continuing its journey to Paris, marking our first presentation in the French capital.

Labelled by the local media as the historical exhibition of the year in Madrid, this move to Paris is a significant one: Hosted in one of the most esteemed museums of the city, which will soon be announced, our stay is a thrilling new chapter and opportunity to engage a wider audience in a city that has long been a center of history and culture .

A Thoughtful Expansion to Reach New Audiences

The decision to bring “The Berlin Wall” to Paris is a carefully considered step in expanding the reach of this exhibition. The history of the Berlin Wall is a powerful story of division and resilience, that we hope will encourage reflection and dialogue. Paris, with its rich cultural and historical context, offers a fitting environment for such an exhibition, one that explores the impact of the Berlin Wall on both Europe and the world.

We’ve worked carefully to select a venue that complements the scale of the exhibition, allowing its powerful stories and artifacts to resonate with visitors. The space has been chosen to create an atmosphere where the exhibition’s themes of division, struggle, and eventual unity can be deeply felt.

A Continuing Commitment to Cultural Exchange

This next phase in Paris is part of our ongoing effort to bring meaningful exhibitions to diverse audiences around the world. Luis Ferreiro, director of Musealia, stressed the relevance of the message conveyed by the exhibition: “The history of the Berlin Wall is a message from the last century to the citizens of the 21st century. A warning about the fragility and exceptionality of liberal democracies, and about the dangers of authoritarian ideologies. But is also a message of hole and responsibility: every generation has a responsibility to preserve, protect, and fight for democracy and freedom”.

Through The Berlin Wall. A World Divided we strive to foster understanding and encourage thoughtful reflection on key historical moments. While the exhibition has already had a significant impact in Madrid, we’re hopeful that it will resonate just as strongly with those visiting in Paris.
