After an extraordinary run in Paris, where The Berlin Wall. A World Divided closed on September 28th with sold-out final weeks in an overwhelmingly positive response from visitors, the exhibition is now heading south.

This November 7th, the doors will open at Espacio Inmersa in Barcelona, hosted by our local partners Proactiv Entertainment. For the next few months, the Catalan capital will be home to one of the most ambitious exhibitions ever created about the Cold War and its global — and local — impact, before it continues its international journey to the United States in 2026.

Bringing together over 200 original artifacts, including authentic segments of the Berlin Wall, The Berlin Wall. A World Divided tells an impactful and deeply human story about division, freedom, and the fragility of democracy. Through personal testimonies, immersive storytelling, and a thoughtful curatorial approach, the exhibition invites visitors to explore how one wall came to symbolize the struggles and hopes of an entire era.

“This exhibition reminds us how fragile — and yet how essential — democracy and freedom are,” says Luis Ferreiro, Director of Musealia.

Developed in collaboration with the Berlin Wall Foundation, the project marks the first time that the Foundation’s curatorial expertise and research have been brought together with objects from more than 60 international museums and institutions.

“The Berlin Wall is not just a German story,” explains Axel Klausmeier, Director of the Berlin Wall Foundation. “It’s a story that belongs to all of us — a reminder of how quickly walls can be built, and how powerful it is when people come together to tear them down.”
