Brisbane has been the first city to host the exhibition in Australia, selling 10,000 tickets within the first 24 hours.
“Titanic. The Human Story”, opened its door in Brisbane, Australia on the 26th of July. A revamped version of Musealia’s acclaimed “Titanic. The Exhibition”, that has been developed throughout the last 3 years together with one of the foremost authorities on the Titanic’s history worldwide, Claes-Göran Wetterholm. This opening has given Musealia the chance to present an exhibition in this side of the world for the first time, and the excitement has been palpable: 10,000 tickets sold within the first 24 hours and, to date, over 75,000 visitors have already come to the exhibit.
This new iteration goes beyond the historical events and grandeur of the Titanic, to delve deeper into the personal stories and experiences of those who were aboard. By focusing on the human aspect of the Titanic’s legacy, the exhibition introduces a fresh narrative that sheds light on previously untold stories of the Titanic’s passengers and crew. Personal belongings, letters, and keepsakes recovered from the ship and its sisters, provide a tangible connection to these individuals, humanizing the tragedy and highlighting the diverse backgrounds of those on board.
By bringing “Titanic. The Human Story” to Brisbane, Musealia not only expands its global reach, but also opens a new range of possibilities to itinerate its exhibitions on a completely new and strong market, providing Australia, with a unique opportunity to engage with relevant pieces of history that explore the human stories behind the headlines.
