Titanic The Exhibition made its American debut last Friday 24th of October in a spectacular gala dinner recreating the last one on board the famous Titanic. More than 700 people attended this special opening event conducted by the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato State, Fernando Olivera.
A 10 course dinner, as a tribute to the one elaborated by chef Auguste Escoffier 102 years ago, was cooked by the chef Dominique Tougne, a disciple of Escoffier’s school. Oysters, Olga bouillon, poached salmon with museline sauce and cucumber; Filet mignon lili (steak with potatoes, foie, artichoke and truffles), were served among other dishes.
All the attendants had the chance to visit the exhibition after the dinner. Guided by the Titanic historian, Claes-Göran Wetterholm, and the director of the exhibition, Luis Ferreiro, they were able to enjoy details and stories about the ship during 2 hours.
Titanic The Exhibition has already been visited by thousands of people in these first weeks and will be displayed in Parque Guanajuato Bicenteanrio until the 30th of April 2015. Hundreds of thousands of people are awaited in this museum to board in such a special experience.
